Positions available: 1 (NOTE: Project contains Versions 1, 2, and 3. Prefer to work with one student throughout all the three versions.

We would like some help creating illustrations for our children's book. We are looking for a student that can bring out the uniqueness in the story, represent each character truthfully, and deliver visuals that drive the book's message home.

We believe this project will require research to understand our unique brand and niche audience to better create consistent visuals. We will give you access to organizational assets to support this project such as brand collateral. We will also suggest names of books that are similar to the vision that we are striving for.

This project is broken up into 3 versions. Deliverable for this version 1 would include:

  • Completion of draft illustrations for a 30-page book - Version 1 of 3
  • Cover page
  • Other necessary components required to move the project forward

The Edmonton Natural Hair Show (ENHS) inspires people of all ages to embrace their Afro-textured coily kinky curly natural hair as part of what makes them uniquely beautiful. This hair type is often frowned upon in society as “not beautiful,” “not professional,” and other discriminations.

ENHS builds and strengthens the natural hair community in Edmonton and surrounding areas through events and activities. The show provides tools and resources for people to care for their hair and/or their kid(s), including the African, Black, Caribbean, biracial, and adoptive communities.

Our show also helps local businesses from different industries grow their revenue, gain customers, and get exposure for their brands.
