ubuntu (operating system) digital content creation content creation social media xhosa languageWe would like students to help us with creating content that is aligned with our vision, mission, and sector. We will ensure the student has a clear understanding of what these elements are for our organization.
An anthropologist proposed a game to the kids in an African tribe. He put a basket full of fruit near a tree and told the kids that whoever got there first won the sweet fruits. When he told them to run, they all took each others’ hands and ran together, then sat together enjoying their treats. When he asked them why they had run together when one person could have had all the fruits for himself, they said: “Ubuntu! How can one of us be happy if all the other ones are sad?” (The original source has not been found) ‘Ubuntu’ in the Xhosa culture means: “i am because we are”.
If you are looking to build communities and are ready to tackle this challenge with us, then we'd love to hear from you.
To accomplish this, we expect the student(s) will:
- Post on social media using various techniques (poster, information links, stories, videos, etc.) to educate, promote engage Edmonton students with Ubuntu
- Evaluate recent successful user-generated campaigns, preferably to the various BIPOC interest groups & employers
- utilize LinkedIn and Instagram
Students will work closely with the primary project manager who is supervising and available for questions. This will also include occasional progress meetings where adjustments to the students' tasks and duties can be made if necessary. The significance of the the company will be discussed along with content and target markets.
About the company
Promoting Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) participation, Ubuntu’s online certificate program will initiate the post secondary student’s journey to find personal purpose, a more focused job search, build professional networks, strengthen inclusive communities and gain life experiences that are transferable to their professional career.
