The project aims to address three key areas: digital marketing strategy, news story highlighting, and the streamlining of communication platforms. The challenge lies in crafting a sustainable plan that maximizes impact while minimizing costs. Learners will analyze the current marketing efforts, identify gaps, and propose innovative solutions that align with the non-profit's mission and budget. The project will provide an opportunity for learners to apply their knowledge of marketing principles, digital tools, and strategic planning in a real-world context. By focusing on these elements, the team will help the non-profit enhance its visibility, engage its audience more effectively, and streamline its communication efforts.
The project deliverables will include a detailed marketing strategy document outlining actionable steps for digital marketing, news story highlighting, and communication platform optimization. Additionally, the team will provide a presentation summarizing their findings and recommendations. The deliverables will be designed to be practical and implementable, ensuring that the non-profit can easily adopt and benefit from the proposed strategies.

About the company
Megaphone (est. 2007) is committed to reshaping societal perceptions of poverty and creating opportunities for those with barriers to the larger community to participate in self-determined creative self-expression and meaningful work.
At our heart, the Vendor Program addresses the lack of accessible income earning opportunities for people with barriers to traditional employment. We do this by producing literary and journalistic publications and training 150+ people experiencing poverty in Vancouver to sell those products for an income.
Our publications, the means by which they are created and sold, foster community engagement, awareness, and support for people experiencing poverty and social isolation. We publish a monthly magazine, annual poetry book, and annual calendar, purchased by our vendors at wholesale cost and sold on the street for market pricing, helping them in earning a low-barrier income while building community.
