Details

The main goal of the "Web App UX/UI Evaluation and Analysis Project" is to significantly enhance the user experience and performance of our web application.

This comprehensive review project aims to meticulously analyze web recordings to uncover and address critical areas for improvement, bugs, user frustration points, and mobile performance gaps.

Key Areas of Focus:

  1. Cross-Device Consistency: Identifying inconsistencies in user experience across various devices and screen sizes, ensuring seamless interaction regardless of the user's choice of technology.
  2. Web Recordings Analysis: Leveraging tools like Hotjar to review user session recordings, understanding real user interactions, and pinpointing exact moments where users face difficulties or application shortcomings.
  3. Brand Consistency: Ensuring that the web app maintains consistent branding throughout the user journey, including visual elements, tone of voice, and overall user interface, to reinforce brand identity and trust.
  4. Accessibility Evaluation: Assessing the web app for accessibility issues that may hinder users with disabilities, ensuring compliance with WCAG guidelines and creating an inclusive user environment.
  5. Actionable Recommendations: Providing specific, actionable recommendations for each identified issue, prioritizing enhancements that promise the most significant impact on user satisfaction and app performance.

Through this initiative, we aim to polish our web app's functionality and aesthetics and foster an accessible, intuitive, and consistent user experience that aligns with our brand values and meets our users' expectations across all platforms and devices.

Deliverables

For the "Web App UX/UI Evaluation and Analysis Project," participants will need to complete a series of structured tasks designed to thoroughly analyze and evaluate the user experience and interface of the web application. These tasks will guide learners through a detailed review process, from initial preparation to the final presentation of findings and recommendations.

Task List:

Project Orientation and Planning:

  • Familiarize with the project objectives, tools (such as Hotjar for web recordings), and the web application itself.
  • Set clear goals and metrics for evaluation, focusing on usability, consistency, accessibility, and performance.

Tool Setup and Configuration:

  • Ensure proper setup of analysis tools (e.g., Hotjar) for recording user sessions. Working with our technology lead to get access.
  • Configure necessary filters and segments to capture relevant user interactions across different devices and platforms.

Cross-Device and Screen Size Analysis:

  • Systematically review the web app's performance and UX/UI consistency across various devices and screen sizes to identify discrepancies that could affect user experience.

Web Recordings Review:

  • Watch and analyze web recordings, taking note of user behavior, patterns, and points where users encounter difficulties or display signs of frustration.

Brand Consistency Check:

  • Evaluate the web app's adherence to brand guidelines, including visual elements, tone, and messaging, to ensure a cohesive brand experience.

Accessibility Assessment:

  • Conduct a thorough accessibility review against recognized standards (e.g., WCAG), identifying areas where the web app may fall short in providing an inclusive user experience.

Issue Documentation and Categorization:

  • Document identified issues with detailed descriptions, possible causes, and evidence from the recordings.
  • Categorize issues into bugs, UX/UI improvements, accessibility gaps, and brand inconsistencies for easier prioritization.

Recommendation Development:

  • For each identified issue, develop actionable recommendations aimed at improving the web app's user experience, interface design, and overall performance.

Report Compilation and Presentation:

  • Compile a comprehensive report detailing all findings, categorized issues, and prioritized recommendations.
  • Prepare and deliver a presentation summarizing key insights and suggested actions to stakeholders.

By completing these tasks, participants will contribute to a deeper understanding of the current state of the web app's user experience and interface design, paving the way for targeted improvements that can enhance overall user satisfaction and engagement.
