Project scope
What is the main goal for this project?

Blue Suede Music Festival is the only charitable ETA (Elvis Tribute Artist) festival organized in Canada. This year we intend to organize the festival in Westlock, Alberta between August 05-07, 2022.

Ever since its inception in 2009, we have concentrated all our efforts on charitable causes. From 2011 to 2019 (last year the festival was organized before COVID pandemic) we provided cheques totalling $69,750 to the following organizations: 3 local area Food Banks, Westlock, Morinville and Barrhead and The Ripple Connection (an organization focused on mental health and addiction challenges, providing support for caregivers) in Barrhead. We keep entry fees low so people can still help the Food Banks and everyone can afford to come to this fun-filled, family-oriented event.

Our team is looking for a group of students to help us promote our event through social media who can help us drive more traffic to our new website and improve our SEO positioning, also, increasing the event exposure. The primary project requirements include:

A. Pre-event 30-day social media posting plan - progressive deadline June 30 - July 20, 2022.

The project deliverable should contain:

  1. Facebook & the newly recommended social media platforms posting schedule/calendar
  2. Posting subjects (focus on links to our website)
  3. Hashtags
  4. Necessary pictures

B. 3x Promotional Posters in a software of your choice - deadline July 05, 2022.

This is a great project for students to prove their project management and social media expertise to future employers, as the impact of their work on this project can be easily measured and communicated.

About the company
Non-profit, philanthropic & civil society

Blue Suede Music Festival is an organization focused on helping rural Alberta food banks. Right from the very first year in 2009, a Food Bank donation was required to get into the Festival. From 2010-2019, an incredible 34,695 POUNDS of food and $10,256 in cash PLUS $10,740 from 2 homemade quilts that were raffled off and live auction proceeds, was divided up amongst the 4 charities, in addition to the cheques they received from Blue Suede!

The Busby Firefighters raised over $50,000 by running 50/50 draws throughout each Festival that helped the community build an outdoor rink and helped with a new addition to the Fire Hall.

The Busby School was the beneficiary of the recyclables from each Festival to help fund their hot lunch program.
We keep entry fees low so people can still help the Food Banks and everyone can afford to come to this fun filled, family oriented event.
