Project scope
- What is the main goal for this project?
-
Develop the structure for mentoring programs including:
* Life cycle of a mentoring program - what are the steps from matching to communications, getting useful feedback and reporting
* Define the specific activities that will be done along the way (ice-breakers, when to ask what questions, structure for providing feedback)
* Mentoring software features - automated reminders (+ when to send), suggestions based on activity, other ideas
For example, we will answer questions like:
* How do we help participants quickly identify their own personality type? their mentor's personality? Then provide related info
* What type of ice-breaker activities should we include in the system?
* What types of reminders are needed? What's essential or too much?
* Should we have a checklist and what should it include? curriculum for mentoring (what's essential vs. topic-specific?)
* What are the stages of mentoring? (related questions for mentors and mentees)
> We would like students to prepare a survey for mentoring program managers and we will contact them for responses.
The final deliverable would be a clear process for mentors and mentees to go through. It can be a set of steps with questions, self-assessments, ice-breakers, recommended activities, checklists and more. Students will study the research materials available online regarding various mentoring program structures to define the ultimate process.
