Details

Our company is designing a native mobile app prototype for PIFit - a concept that enhances customers' retail experience while changing how digital advertising is delivered to the end-user.

Pay It Forward™ (PIFIT) is a patent-pending app that innovates advertising and shopping by allowing users to interact with ads (digital content), resulting in the end-user receiving an instant cash discount (ICD) on their purchase.

Driven as a multi-brand cross-promotion platform, PIFit is essentially a B2B2C App. The non-invasive approach to delivering and viewing digital content gets 100% confirmed interaction.

What's involved:

  • Conduct background research on existing or comparable models.
  • Identify key areas of focus from inception to implementation for the design and build of the mobile app.
  • Learn and use various software design tools such as Figma.
  • Creation of a screen by screen UX / UI prototype of a native mobile application which can be used on both iOS and Android.
Deliverables

By the end of the project, students should complete the following list of activities:

  • Familiarize themselves with our concept.
  • Thought-process the design layout and flow prior to the design stage.
  • Familiarize themselves with a design tool of their choosing and understand how it work. We strongly recommend Figma.
  • Design and build inside of the design tool all the needed screens for a mobile application prototype of our product.
  • Present the final design (wireframe) screens to us with the context of all the choices made, problems encountered, and next steps they recommend.

Bonus steps would include:

  • Conducting UX / UI testing with real potential users potentially involving paper prototypes or other software tools to support this.

Final deliverables should include:

  • The design screens and all assets in a shareable format.
  • A presentation as stated above of the final designs.
  • Colour palette to choose design theme colour.
Mentorship

Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will be able to provide answers to questions such as:

  • Current product understanding
  • Industry-standard design tools and applications
  • Any sort of branding or styling advice
  • Input on choices, problems or anything else the students might encounter
  • Regular checkpoint meetings on a bi-weekly basis, minimum 60 mins per meeting
