What is the main goal for this project?

The Carnegie Community Engagement Classification is a US classification intended to support a process for institutional learning and transformation, the outcome of which is an institution in which high-quality community engagement is deeply rooted and pervasive. We have been encouraged to work through the Carnegie Classification document to better understand community engagement in the MacEwan context. The first part of the exercise is to determine how deeply community engagement is supported at MacEwan. We are looking for 1 student to assist the Carnegie Classification working group to complete the first two sections of the Carnegie Classification exercise by the end of June and assist in creating a larger engagement strategy for September 2021.

Specific duties include:

  • solicit information on Community Engagement from various stakeholders at MacEwan
  • scan MacEwan policy documents
  • assist in writing a draft of the Carnegie exercise document
  • attend regular meetings with the Carnegie Classification working group
