ABC Academy of Music is developing a software platform to increase efficiency/functionality, reduce costs, and allow for extensibility to allow for enhanced and centralized business operations management.

The Process Automation Tool (PAT) is intended to enable businesses to build micro-processes and automations that touch every aspect of the platform and its integrations.

There are preliminary visual interface designs and mock-ups, but these are out of date and require updating, as well as full experience mapping so our active dev team (4th year students from ASU who will be developing this through winter 2024) can start to build the front end starting this autumn, 2024.

1. Project Plan- Identify goals, milestones, and set a timeline for the project
2. Review requirements and existing designs- Familiarize themselves with the existing product to understand the requirements, design work, and feedback that already exists, and to identify gaps to be filled in the next stage.
3. Complete the interface/visual design.
4. Complete the experience & flow design
5. Finalize- Handoff all deliverables and findings in a package that allows for your work to be easily understood and incorporated into future projects.

Deliverables:

• Design Audit- audit the current user flow to identify pain points, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement
• Competitive research - analysis of direct or indirect competitors' design strengths and weaknesses, with actionable recommendations, including taking inspiration from these where good ideas arise
• User research- research plans, and/or persona development to better understand users. Some of this exists, so this will be a question of building upon, not working from scratch.
• Usability testing- summary of key findings and recommendations, or documentation of testing sessions to understand users’ experience of and interaction with your product
• Redesign and/or redesign recommendations- design improved flows for the distinct user types. Workshop ideas and turn those into wireframes or mockups that show exactly how the solution could work
• Prototype- once high fidelity mockups are complete, create a prototype in Figma that can be used to test and validate the designs
