commodity trading data visualization forestry market research microsoft excel data collection research microsoft powerpoint real estateThe main goal for the project is to support the FIR engagement by identifying suitable data sets relevant to the Central Kootenays forestry industry, collecting and congregating data sets from various sources, and visualizing the identified data sets in the form of graphs in Excel and/or PowerPoint.
This will involve several different steps for the students, including:
- Working closely with the project lead to understand the requirements and goals of the FIR engagement.
- Identifying suitable data sets relevant to the Central Kootenays forestry industry.
- Collecting and congregating data sets from sources such as BC Stats, Census, Industry Associations, Commodity Trading Platforms, Selkirk College, Real Estate Boards, and other entities.
- Visualizing the identified data sets in the form of graphs in Excel and/or PowerPoint.
By the end of the project, students should complete the following list of activities:
- Identified and collected relevant data sets from various sources.
- Visualized the identified data sets in the form of graphs in Excel and/or PowerPoint.
- Presented the findings and visualizations to the project lead and stakeholders.
Final deliverables:
- A final report including the identified data sets, the process of data collection, and the visualizations created.
- A presentation explaining the research process, data collection, and visualizations.
Student will be supported by the owner/lead consultant throughout the project. They will also have access to other key contacts and information.
