Details

The Alberta Community Togetherness Society aims to enhance its operational capabilities by expanding its reach and service offerings. A critical step in this process is obtaining charity status, which will allow the society to access more funding opportunities and provide tax benefits to donors, thereby increasing its financial sustainability. Additionally, the society needs to ensure that its email communications are hosted on the correct platform to improve efficiency and security. This project involves researching the requirements and process for applying for charity status in Alberta, as well as evaluating and selecting an appropriate email hosting platform. The project will provide learners with the opportunity to apply their knowledge of non-profit management, legal requirements, and IT solutions.

Deliverables

The project deliverables include a comprehensive report detailing the steps and requirements for applying for charity status in Alberta, along with a completed application form ready for submission. Fuse Social is a non profit organization willing to support us in the process and students would work with them. Additionally, the project will deliver an analysis of various email hosting platforms, with a recommendation for the most suitable option for the society's needs. The team will also provide a migration plan to transition the society's emails to the selected platform.
