Details

Having learned the foundations of product management, data analysis and design thinking in a rigorous program, students are now looking to apply their top-of-the-industry product management knowledge to organizations like yours in a consulting project. Students will be working in groups to break down, assess and recommend opportunities in your organization's product management process specifically in the area of innovation and MVP testing.

Students and employers are expected to set up clear lines of communication prior to the 4-week project start time.

For this project, we are looking for employers who have at least a couple of employees within the organization who can be the point of contact for the students to help them navigate, get intros to the different employee interviews that they'll need to complete to meet the requirements of this project.

Deliverables

Deliverables are negotiable, and will seek to align the needs of the students and the organization.

Some final project deliverables might include:

  1. A 30-35 minute presentation on key findings and recommendations
  2. A detailed report including their research, analysis, insights and recommendations
Project Examples

Students in groups of 3-5 will work with your company to identify your needs and provide actionable recommendations, based on their in-depth research and analysis.

Project activities that students will complete include:

  • A view of the customer personas and market opportunities your organization currently serves
  • A map of the decision makers regarding the product roadmap that your organization has
  • How your organization currently handles innovation
  • Recommendations of opportunities your organization can take on to improve your innovation process in product management
Additional company criteria

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

A representative of the company will be available to answer questions from students in a timely manner for the duration of the project.

Your organization has a dedicated product management team or if you have a de facto product management functions, you have an intent to move in the direction of a dedicated team.

Provide an opportunity for students to present their work and receive feedback.

Provide relevant information/data as needed for the project.
