Details

Could you benefit from addressing a distribution challenge related to your company's operations? In this course, teams of students in Supply Chain Management at Conestoga College will address your organization's distribution challenge and provide key findings and recommendations at the end.

Deliverables

The final deliverable will be agreed on by the educator and partnering organization but generally includes:

  • A final presentation on findings and recommendations
  • A comprehensive final report
Project Examples

Beginning this January, undergraduate students in teams will dedicate 90 hours per group objectively researching and examining international vendors, customers, and distribution centers with the goal of maximizing company productivity in a global economy and taking advantage of global opportunities

Based on their insights, the student-consultants will develop actionable recommendations.

Project examples include but are not limited to:

  • Improving efficiency and workflow in distribution center warehouses.
  • Long haul and short-haul delivery operations.
  • Quantifying cost savings.
  • Determining the best price for transportation services.
  • Demand forecasting.
  • Logistics strategies or improvements
Additional company criteria

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Be able to provide a key contact who will provide support, and mentorship to the students.

Be available to attend the final presentations with the students.

The organization must give students access to relevant information and/or data sets (students can sign NDA).

Be available for a quick phone call with the organizer to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the experience.
