In this assignment, student-consultants from Maple League of Universities will help your organization with market research and creating an event plan for an event, summit or conference of your choosing. Depending on your needs, students can assist with both market research, event planning and creating marketing materials

Students will present a completed event plan based on your needs. This plan can include, but is not limited to:

  • Report assessing current trends or initiatives
  • Venue and vendor recommendations, with quotes where possible
  • Budget
  • Event timeline
  • Outreach to presenters
  • Outreach to attendees
  • Seating plan
  • Promotional materials, including email campaign copy and social posts
  • Menu(s)
  • Sponsorship and/or vendor packages (decks that can be shared with prospective partners)

The student should complete 280 hours with your organization by September 1, 2020.

Project Examples

Requirements

Students will work with you to determine event goals, timelines, and budget. Depending on the size of your event, you can ask several students or groups to take ownership of specific deliverables.

Project examples include, but are not limited to:

  • Gain an understanding current trends and initiatives for event audience
  • Outreach to develop network for both conference presenters and attendees
  • Planning and executing an event or conference
  • Developing resources for further campaigns

Additional company criteria

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Be available for a quick phone call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.

Provide a dedicated contact who is available to answer periodic emails or phone calls over the duration of the project to address students' questions.

Placement is paid, with student expected to earn $14/hour.
