Overview
Learner goals and capabilities

Student consultants from Oklahoma State's Design, Housing, and Merchandising program are ready to work with your organization as virtual interns. Students from OSU will be able to help your team integrate creative expression, marketing, and business operations in the fast-paced fashion industry.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, student placements will only occur virtually. Students are available starting June 8th and are required to work 275 hours over the course of the summer.

Expected outcomes and deliverables

Deliverables will vary depending on the scope of the project. The student should complete 275 hours with your organization by July 31st.

Project Examples

What are the selling features? What is the fashion story? How will the merchandise perform when used? what must the customer know to experience maximum performance satisfaction from the merchandise? OSU students will help you determine the best ways to address your merchandising questions.

Project examples that students can complete may include, but are not limited to:

  • Social Media Marketing
  • Market Research
  • Proposal Development
  • Front Facing E-Commerce Interface Development
  • Advertising and Promotion Planning
  • User Experience
  • Communicating and cooperating with management.
Additional company criteria

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Provide a dedicated contact who will act as the student's primary supervisor over the duration of the virtual placement. A secondary contact should be provided as a backup. Students will interact virtually with their primary contact on a daily basis, or as needed.

Placements are unpaid, for-credit experience for students, but honorariums are welcomes if your organization is able to provide a stipend for the student.

Be available for a quick phone call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.
