Partner with learners from Viterbo University to be your learner-consultants, in a project-based experience. Our learners are eager to engage with local businesses, schools, non-profits, and advocacy groups over the semester, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools.

Viterbo University stands as a beacon for ethical leadership and societal change. Our Ethics, Culture, and Society Capstone course fosters creative expression and critical thinking, emphasizing the fusion of ethical values with societal transformation.


The Ideal Partner:

We seek passionate business owners who share our commitment to community advocacy. We encourage projects with a clear social justice or advocacy focus, allowing our students to contribute meaningfully. The ideal project could encompass research or task-oriented elements, giving our students a diverse learning experience. An open-minded approach to negotiating project scopes will pave the way for a rewarding collaboration.

Deliverables are negotiable, and will seek to align the needs of the learners and the organization. 


Some final project deliverables might include: 

  1. A 10-15 minute presentation on key findings and recommendations
  2. A detailed report including their research, analysis, insights and recommendations

Project Examples

Our learners have diverse and interdisciplinary backgrounds ranging from education to history, bioethics to legal studies. They will work with your company to identify your needs and provide actionable recommendations.


Past community involvement/projects include:

  • Creating a podcast on women in the labor movement
  • Developing programs for a local chapter of the Boys and Girls Club
  • Researching, writing and presenting on local history for a history museum in the community
  • Working with local elementary schools to build out educational programs
  • Providing end of life care and living will agreements at a local hospital
  • Producing set of wood engravings that depict PFAS contamination in local drinking wells
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Be available for a quick phone/virtual call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the experience.

Provide a dedicated contact person who is available for weekly/bi-weekly drop-ins to address learners’ questions as well as periodic messages over the duration of the project.

Provide an opportunity for learners to present their work and receive feedback.

Provide relevant information and/or data as needed for the project.
