This course gives the MSc Data Science for Business students the opportunity to work on a project which require the demonstration of their ability to conduct independent consultancy project drawing on their education throughout the programme. The module develops student skills to work as a consultant.

The students in their final semester will spend circa 24 weeks March to August working with your organisation on a management challenge or opportunity including areas such as process improvement, competitive assessment, optimisation, demand management, pricing, customer analytics, operations and other areas developing a solution for your analytical challenge using data science and analytics. In this project, our students can develop solutions and recommendations to solve your analytical challenge.

  • A project report with findings supported by relevant evidence including but not limited to analytics, data, and key sources.

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Be available on a regular basis to discuss status and check progress.

Be available for an 1-hour project kick-off meeting (virtual) to discuss project and share background information with the student.

Providing Data to help complete the project will help increase engagement from student on this project and can be discussed prior to the start date

Provide a dedicated contact who is available to answer periodic emails or video calls over the duration of the project to address student questions.

Be available for a quick video conference and/or telephone call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.
