Overview
Learner goals and capabilities

Students will perform whatever project they are assigned but also evaluate its implications for how an organization provides unique value and its business strategy using Porter's Five Forces model. In addition, students will have to identify possible barriers to the strategy changes they are recommending.

Expected outcomes and deliverables
  • A 25 page strategy and change capacity evaluation
  • A 45 minute presentation of results and recommendations
Project Examples

A group of 4 to 6 student consultants will work with an organization on whatever operational project they bring. In doing so they will comment on the implications for its unique value proposition and will identify barriers and risks to strategy changes they are recommending.

  • Examine what the organization produces and why clients value it
  • Assess opportunities to open new markets or better served an existing market
  • Evaluate organization capabilities to execute a strategy change
  • Work with client to develop an action plan to implement proposed changes
