MBA student-consultants will evaluate your organization's current sustainability initiatives and practices, then make recommendations on certifications, reporting, and/or strategic initiatives to improve your sustainability standing.

The final deliverables for the project deliverables will include:

  • 2-page project scope and/or goal statement
  • 10-page final report with details of research, analysis, findings, and recommendations
  • 10-minute presentation followed by Q&A (in-person or virtual)

Project Examples

Based on the information your organization provides and industry research, the assigned group will identify innovative and feasible opportunities to recommend a set of sustainable business/management practices.

Project focus may include, but is not limited to the following:

  • Identify and analyze sustainability-related certifications relevant to a product, process or business function.
  • Analysis and recommendations regarding a firm's sustainability report
  • Developing a plan to implement a green office program, including cleaning supplies and sustainable practices
  • Improving stakeholder and community relations
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Be available for a quick phone call with the the student teams to initiate your relationship and confirm your project scope.

Assign a liaison person at your organization to facilitate the project with the student team.

Provide students access to prior studies and information on the organization especially relating to sustainability.

Be responsive to periodic emails throughout the term to answer questions the student may have regarding potential solutions.

Provide feedback on student contributions at the end of the semester, for grading purposes.
