Expected outcomes and deliverables
  • 5 to 7-page report detailing recommendations for improved operations management. Reports will include a title page, table of contents, and reference page.
  • A 5 to 7 slide presentation deck (executive summary) highlighting key findings/conclusions. Top teams will present to representatives from your organization.

Project Examples

Requirements

A group of students taking a course in operations management will use quantitative and qualitative analysis to help solve a problem unique to your organization. Students will use data provided by your organization and apply operations management theory and tools to analyze the problem and recommend solutions. A final report and presentation will give you a summary of their research and provide valuable insights that you can use going forward.

Project examples include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing a demand forecast
  • Determining capacity planning
  • Addressing any quality-related problems in the supply chain
  • Supply chain management issues
  • Product design and reliability assurance
  • Location optimization for a warehouse or other facility
  • Inventory management

Additional company criteria

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Provide a dedicated contact who will provide a tour of your organization and respond to questions from the students.

Be available during the week of November 16th 2020 for presentations from top teams. You can attend in-person or via video conference.

Be available for a quick phone call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.
