Overview
- Learner goals and capabilities

Student-consultants will analyze your organization's data discovering new insights to improve your current processes and help you make data-driven decisions.
- Expected outcomes and deliverables
-
Phase 1 Project Scope Meeting: Students will meet with organization representative(s) to devise the project scope and prepare a detailed plan for completion of the project.
Phase 2 Project Execution: Students will work on deliverables outlined in the project plan. The team will periodically communicate with organization representative(s) as needed to complete project tasks.
Phase 3 - Outcome - Report and Presentation: Students will submit a 20-page report with data analysis and recommendations. The team will also present this in the last class. Organization representative(s) are invited to attend these presentations.
Project Examples
Beginning in January, a team of three student-consultants will implement analytical tools to solve an organizational challenge that you are currently facing.
The data-driven solution that's implemented will provide an operational advantage such as:
- Identifying the most profitable customer profile
- Predicting future outcomes
- Visualizing data for business intelligence
- Designing databases
Analytical tools may include:
- SAS Enterprise Guide
- SAS Enterprise Miner
- KNIME Analytics Platform
- Python, Tableau
- SQL Server
Additional company criteria
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:
Be available for a 1-hour interview (virtual, phone, or in person) in order to make sure the students fully understand your company, industry and needs
Minimum of 2-4 interactions with the students in-person or remotely (approximately 4-6 hours over the duration of the project).
Provide a dedicated contact who will be available to answer periodic emails or phone calls over the duration of the project to address students' questions or provide additional information.
