Overview
Learner goals and capabilities

4th year student-consultants will analyze a current aspect of your organization, and develop a tailored recommendation plan to solve a challenge or capture an opportunity.

Expected outcomes and deliverables

The final deliverables for the project will be determined by the project focus provided by your organization. Final deliverables can include:

  • 3-page project status report mid-way through the semester
  • 12-page final report with details of research, analysis, findings, and recommendations
  • 20-minute presentation followed by Q&A (in-person or virtual)
Project Examples

Groups of four student-consultants will work with your organization to evaluate capabilities to execute a strategy change, develop an actionable plan to implement proposed changes.

Each team will dedicate 160 hours over the entire semester to assess the state of your organization and industry to identify opportunities you can take advantage of.

Project examples could include, but are not limited to:

  • Evaluation of organization's capabilities to execute a current/new strategy
  • SWOT analysis
  • Competitive analysis
  • Business strategy analysis
  • Product and/or market diversification
  • Country-based expansion analysis
  • Assessment of opportunities to open new markets or better serve an existing market
  • An implementation plan for any proposed recommendations
Additional company criteria

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Assign a liaison person at your organization to facilitate the project with the student team.

Provide students access to prior studies and information on the organization/topic.

Be available to attend the students' final presentation (virtual or in-person) by November 29, 2017.

Provide feedback on student contributions at the end of the semester, for grading purposes.
