Project Examples

This September, a class of students will spend up to 3,000 hours over the course of one week analyzing a problem that you organization is facing to develop insights and solutions.

In partnership with the instructor, the organization will provide a problem or challenge which it seeks to understand better. Ideally, projects will include a hands-on data component; this can be either real-world data from your organization or simulated data based on the problem faced, which would be developed in concert with the instructor.

The focus of the project can be either small-scale (business or organization focused), medium-scale (market, industry, or regional focused), or large scale (country, province, or sector focused). It can also include topics from the public and private sectors, including NGOs and non-profits.

Example topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Understanding the composition of your client base, including which clients present the greatest growth opportunities for your organization.

  • Evaluating the effectiveness of a job training program, in terms of different performance indicators for your organization.

  • Conducting a market evaluation of demand for a hypothetical product or service.

  • Predicting future market conditions for a business or international service.
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Be available for a quick phone call with the organizer to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the experience.

Judge a selection of the final projects at the termination of the competitions.

Be able to either provide real-world data for the project or consult on scope of simulated data for the competition.

The organization can oversee this case competition and interactions with the students/educator remotely. Being at the campus in person is optional.
