Assignment Overview
Victorious Family is seeking your help to advise them on how to streamline the training program so they can develop more coaches and ultimately reach a growing number of families. The goal is to get the training program closer to a one-month completion time without sacrificing its rigor.
Victorious Family works with a network of coaches it trains around the country that, in turn, facilitate workshops and meet with parents to help them develop spiritual families. Currently, the training program for coaches involves 84 video modules and takes 2–3 months to complete
You will leverage what you’ve learned during the semester, as well as your experience with PC’s orientation and any internship training/onboarding programs you’ve participated in, to provide realistic and innovative solutions.
Phase 1 Deliverables
Your team will be asked to create a rough draft of your proposal on how to improve the Victorious Family’s training program. The proposal should be two to three pages, double-spaced, and contain the following sections:
-
Objectives: Restate what the Victorious Family is trying to accomplish with the training program and the general context in which the non-project operates. -
Context: Articulate what makes a great coach/mentor, which organizations are providing world-class training programs for coaches/mentors, and what features of these programs stand out as being the most effective and can apply to the context of Victorious Family’s program. Please cite any training programs that you reference. -
Recommendations: Outline how the Victorious Family training program can be streamlined. Your recommendations section should address the following elements:
- Which competencies gained through the video modules are essential, and which can be discarded or shortened?
- Whether modality changes should be made (i.e., determining whether the program should be entirely virtual, in-person, or hybrid). Explain your rationale for why.
- At least one new training method that can be used instead of video modules. For example, Zoom sessions with current coaches, a shadowing day, a role-playing activity, a case study, a Chatbot to answer common questions, a Slack group for participants to connect, etc.

Your instructor and Terence Chatmon, the CEO of Victorious Family, will receive each of your proposals. You will receive written feedback during the first week of December, which you will use in Phase 2 of the project.

December 18, 2024Phase 2: Final Project
Each student team will receive written feedback from the class instructor and project manager during the first week of December. Using this feedback, the student team will expand upon the four sections listed in Phase 2. The final proposal should be at least four double-spaced pages, not including the training materials created. Attention should be paid, in particular, to expanding the recommendation section by providing as much detail as possible. More details will be added to this description closer to the due date.

Our undergraduate students are equipped with a foundational understanding of HR concepts, including job analysis, recruitment, selection, employee management, and compensation. This course is designed to foster theoretical knowledge and provide practical skills applicable to any professional role, and at its core, to walk students through the employee life cycle from attraction to separation.
Students in this course participate in hands-on activities, including a competitive team-based HR simulation and your Riipen project. They are proficient in HR management issues and principles and have developed strong teamwork, problem-solving, and strategic thinking capabilities.
For the project, we would prefer a company that operates on the East Coast so students can be in the same time zone as the project managers.
Learners
By the end of this collaboration, employers will receive:
- A final report highlighting key findings and strategic recommendations. This includes an in-depth discussion of the objectives, context, and recommendations.
- Practical HR tools and templates developed during the project (e.g., onboarding checklists, survey instruments).
