Virtual Internship Opportunity

Bring on one or more MBA and/or specialty Masters students from Texas A&M University’s Mays Business School graduate programs to be your virtual interns in a project-based experience. Students will work on one or more projects of your choosing over the internship period, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools.

Students are available for projects of a minimum of 50 hours anytime between June 1 until August 14.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, student placements will only occur virtually.

Project Examples

Requirements

Students can complete a substantial project for your organization over the internship period. We suggest providing a starting project, but as the placement goes on, there may be other duties or projects the student is asked to complete as well. Providing a central project creates a structure for the internship and gives the student (and company) a tangible goal.

Project examples that students can complete may include, (but are not limited to):

  • Developing a market analysis of competitors
  • Creating a data visualization of your sales funnel
  • Creating a mobile application
  • Creating a SWOT analysis for your brand/company
  • Preparing a feasibility study for a new product/market, etc.

Additional company criteria

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Provide a dedicated contact who will act as the student's primary supervisor over the duration of the virtual placement. A secondary contact should be provided as a backup. Students will interact virtually with their primary contact on a daily basis, or as needed.

Be available for a quick phone call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.

Provide payment to the intern. Payment for MBAs is generally based on an hourly rate of $25/hour. Payment for specialty Masters students is generally based on an hourly rate of $20/hour. Equivalent honorariums or stipends would also be acceptable.
