June 5, 2023TEAM UP: Participant Project Planning Session
SalesCamp participants will begin the project by attending a kickoff session hosted by Palette Skills. SalesCampers will receive an introduction to the project, key deliverables, timelines and milestones. The group will be divided into teams and have time to research and learn more about the company they'll be working with, and establish roles and responsibilities for each member of the team.
The participants will engage in activities to support the success of the project such as: company research, team structure and responsibilities, strategy, planning and reporting, project management, etc.
Each team will be assigned a research challenge and establish a working plan to present an educational workshop during milestone 2. This milestone is intended to dive deeper into aspects of prospecting and outreach and prepare for the project kickoff. This is a flipped model ensures participants have completed extensive research into prospecting and sales outreach and have retention and confidence in the topic.

June 8, 2023SKILL UP: Team Presentations: Prospecting & Outreach
Each team will present 15-minute presentations highlighting key areas of focus and best practices related to prospecting & outreach.
Participants will dig deep into prospecting and outreach best practices and strategies to prepare for the project. This flipped teaching model ensures participants are taking responsibility for their learning and development and have a deeper understanding and retention of the material.
In this meeting, team will also begin the planning process for the project kickoff meeting (milestone 3) with the featured company and prepare the questions and topics to address during the discovery portion of the meeting.

June 13, 2023MEET UP: Official Project Kickoff Meeting
Participants will meet with the industry partnering company and key contacts/representatives of the organization. Participants will run a discovery session with the representatives to ensure they have a deep understanding of the key elements of the business, sales personas, value proposition, differentiators, competition, sales goals and targets, etc.
This 60-minute meeting is intended to:
- Get to know each other. Participants meet the company representatives
- Transfer key knowledge and assets to support project success i.e. ICP, current outreach strategy, etc.
- Review project goals and milestones
- Agree on communication and support plan required to support project success
- Determine next steps and confirm timeline and meeting dates

Participants and company representatives will come together for a midpoint check-in meeting, moderated by Palette Skills, to give participants a chance to ask any further questions, discuss challenges or knowledge gaps and showcase the work they've completed since the project kickoff meeting.
In this 60-minute meeting, each team will have an opportunity to ask further questions and explore any challenges or roadblocks they may be experiencing.
Employers can validate that the teams are meeting project expectations and trending towards successful completion of the project.

In this exciting project wrap-up event, each team will present their project findings and results to the company representatives. Teams will have 15-minutes to present their prospecting lists and outreach strategies to the company representatives who will use a project rubric to evaluate and score each presentation.
Based on the feedback and evaluation of the presentation, one team will be awarded the Top Team Award.
This competitive environment will bring out the best of the participants and create competitive tension towards exceeding the expectations of the project deliverables. SalesCampers are competitive by nature and want to win!

Bring on participants from Palette Skills to be your consultants, in a project-based experience. Participants will work on one main project over the course of a 4-week period, connecting with you based on the scheduled project milestones.
Participants in this program build on their previous professional work experience and will have just completed the core week of Palette Skills' SalesCamp program. SalesCamp responds to the needs of tech firms looking for sales talent. It is a 6-week intensive, experience-based sales training program designed to help introduce the in-demand area of B2B sales to professionals in need of a change. SalesCamp is a competitive program that pre-screens applicants to ensure they have the transferable skills and commitment required to be successful in tech sales.
Participants are mid-career workers who are transitioning into technology sales and will bring diverse experiences and insights into the project. They have at least 3 years of work experience in a wide range of sectors, including retail, hospitality, film & TV, project management, and software development. In SalesCamp they practice the consultative selling approach, using techniques such as BANT; feel, felt, found; and WIIFM.
Participants are motivated, curious, self-directed, and eager to gain further experience in tech sales.
Deliverables are negotiable, and will seek to align the needs of the participants and the organization.
Some final project deliverables might include:
- A 15-minute presentation from each team (3-5 teams of 3-5 participants per team) during the final competitive presentation milestone meeting
- Detailed prospecting list
- Customized outreach sequences and written copy for all channels in focus (email, phone, social [LinkedIn])
- A detailed report including their research, analysis, insights and recommendations

Project Examples
The SalesCamp cohort will be divided into groups of 3-5 participants who will work with your company to research and develop custom prospecting lists and outreach strategies across a variety of channels including: phone, email and socials.
You will work with 3-5 teams that will each focus on a prospecting and outreach project for your company. Teams will compete for the best overall strategy based on your vote; each team will present their strategies to your company representatives in the final project milestone. Your company will benefit from the fresh perspective, creative ideas and transferable skills that the participants will bring from their past professional experiences and SalesCamp training.
Project activities that participants can complete may include, but are not limited to:
- Understanding of your ICP and target audience
- Researching the target industry to discover prospecting opportunities
- Planning and developing cold outreach in the form of emails, calls and socials to attract new opportunities
- Creating outreach sequences and writing copy
- Final presentation to company representatives

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:
Be available for a quick phone/virtual call with a Palette Skills representative to initiate your relationship and confirm project scope
Provide a dedicated contact person(s) who is available for all scheduled milestones and is available to address participants’ questions via email for duration of the project.
Provide relevant company information/data as needed for participants to complete the project during milestone 3 & 4 meetings.
Bring additional company representatives to participate as judges and provide feedback to participants during the team presentations at the final milestone meeting.
