Over the course of this project, students will work collaboratively to transform an existing e-commerce website into a more visually engaging, user-friendly, accessible, and conversion-focused platform. Using insights from a professional website audit, students will help redesign website aesthetics, improve navigation and SEO performance, and create an innovative AI-driven landing page experience that guides customers toward personalized plant recommendations based on their lifestyle, environment, aesthetic preferences, and plant-care experience.
This project offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in UX/UI design, digital marketing, e-commerce strategy, accessibility, SEO, customer journey mapping, and emerging AI-assisted web experiences. Students will contribute to a real business with an established audience while building portfolio-ready work that blends creativity, strategy, and technology. The overall goal is to improve online sales, increase brand awareness, and create a more intuitive and interactive shopping experience for customers.
Sweetlife Flora’s e-commerce website and customer journey experience. Students will apply creative problem-solving, user experience design, and digital strategy skills to develop recommendations and implement selected improvements that support increased customer engagement, accessibility, and online sales performance.
Expected deliverables may include:
- A review and summary of findings from the existing external website audit
- Recommendations for website redesign, navigation improvements, and updated visual aesthetics
- Wireframes, mockups, or prototypes for key redesigned website pages
- SEO and accessibility improvement recommendations aligned with best practices
- An optimized customer journey strategy focused on improving ease of navigation and product discovery
- A concept and workflow for an AI-driven landing page experience that guides customers through a personalized plant recommendation process
- Suggested question pathways, logic flows, and user interaction concepts for the AI experience
- Implementation of selected website updates and design improvements within the existing e-commerce platform
- A final presentation summarizing research, strategy, implemented changes, and future recommendations
Students will also gain experience working collaboratively in a real-world client setting, balancing strategy, creativity, technical implementation, and user-centered design principles within a defined project timeline.
