Parents of Black Children (PoBC) is looking for an individual to support our Communication Lead with social media content creation, campaign support, data collection and media outreach. We want to be able to help tell the stories of Black families to ensure that institutions are held accountable and anti-Black racism is not tolerated within education.

We need support mainly in these areas:

1. Social Media Content Creation

  • Create content that tells the story of what Black students are experiencing within the education system.
    • Create content in bulk so we are showcasing our presence every other day.
    • Help facilitate the growth of a Tik-Tok page.

2. Campaign Support

  • Newsletters, email campaigns, social media elements, press releases, and media advisories.
  • We would like to identify the experience and needs of Black families across the province as it relates to Anti-Black Racism.
    • Support with research and resources would be necessary.
    • Media Outreach.

What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

    • Data collection and research

  • The ability to support with email campaigns and newsletters
  • Ability to paint a picture of anti-Black racism across education institutions
