planning storyboarding cooperation instructional design curriculum developmentThrough the Co-operative Education Stream, students grow as young professionals through the four courses that they complete. That Co-op journey has inspired the idea of creating a COOP 290 “Student” whose story Co-op students can follow through their journey throughout the COOP 290 coursework. The goal is that students will identify more with the phases of career exploration and development by personalizing the process. This is intended as a team project for a team of 2-3 students.
The project will be divided into two phases:
In phase one, the focus will be on a curriculum design focus for integrating the material and the story into the COOP 290 curriculum. This will include mapping the elements and choosing an instructional design for the coursework. It is intended that a major focus for that design plan will be integrating videos (both live and animated) to supplement the existing print material.
Students will also assist with creating scripts and storyboards for animated videos.
- Curriculum plan for COOP 290 re-design
- Scripts for assigned COOP 290 videos
- Storyboards for assigned COOP 290 videos
I will collaborate with the team throughout the project. We will meet on a weekly basis to review progress and discuss any issues that may arise.
About the company
The Co-operative Education Stream is an educational option available to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Commerce Program at MacEwan University. Co-operative Education(Co-op) began at MacEwan Unviersity as a mandatory program requirement for the Supply Chain Management Co-op Major. In Fall 2017, Co-op became an optional offering available to students from all Bachelor of Commerce Majors. In the Co-op stream students complete four courses: a pre-employment seminar (COOP 290) which focuses on career development, job search, and preparation for work experience. The other three courses are three four-month work experience courses.
