What learners can do

A 50-hour, project-based experience for career-switching learners preparing for careers in Data Analytics.

Submit a data analytics-focused project for the Skills Lab team to review. If approved, your project will be matched with 3–5 participants per team, contributing up to 250 hours of meaningful, real-world work (50-hours per learner).

Projects are fully remote, allowing flexible scheduling based on mutual availability between the employer and the student team.

This experience is designed for adult learners with foundational knowledge in statistical methods, data wrangling, visualization, and analytics tools such as Python, SQL, and Tableau. The goal is to provide participants with hands-on experience applying data analytics skills to solve real business challenges, communicate insights effectively, and support data-driven decision-making.

Learner Goals and Capabilities

Learners are eager to apply their Data Boot Camp training to real organizational problems. Projects should provide participants with the opportunity to:

  1. Clean, organize, and transform raw data for analysis using Python, SQL, and ETL techniques.
  2. Conduct statistical analysis to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
  3. Create compelling dashboards and interactive visualizations with tools like Tableau, D3.js, or Python libraries.
  4. Develop simple predictive models to support business forecasting and decision-making.
  5. Automate routine data tasks and integrate data from multiple sources via APIs.
  6. Collaborate in teams using project management and documentation tools to deliver professional outputs.

  3. Predictive models or trend analyses to guide decision-making.
  4. Well-documented code, processes, and final presentations summarizing key findings for technical and non-technical audiences.

Due to the short, remote format, projects must be well-defined and outcome-based. Please provide a clear, specific scope for the learners’ work.
