Students have experience in areas including strategic management in sport, sport-for-development, sport governance, sport marketing, sport finance and financial management, sport media and sport events. Importantly, students also gain experience of the management of sport for health outcomes within a variety of contexts.
Students will work on one or more projects of your choosing over the internship period, connecting with you as needed using virtual communication tools. There is an opportunity for either individual or group-based projects ( maximum group size 4 students) . All students are available for 60 hours of placement from Oct to Dec 2021.
An agreed action and outcome (e.g. report or other output) mutually beneficial to the organisation and the university as agreed by both parties.
The student should complete 60 hours with your organization by mid-May 2022.

Project Examples
Students can complete a substantial project for your organization over the placement period. We suggest providing a starting project, but as the placement goes on there may be other duties or projects the student is asked to complete as well. Providing a central project creates structure for the internship, and gives the student (and company) a tangible goal.
Project examples that students can complete may include, but are not limited to:
- Preparing a report on, for example, organisational structure or governance (including changes thereto or alternatives);
- Contributing to the development of organisational strategy (e.g. marketing, social media, sponsorship) or sport strategy;
- Contributing to the development of a financial plan;
- Preparing or contributing to the development of a funding application;
- Undertaking research into sport or project funding opportunities;
- Developing a market analysis of competitors;
- Developing a sport strategy report;
- Undertaking market analysis (e.g. geographical or spectator or participants);
- Researching and /or producing social media content including podcast preparation;
- Undertaking an event feasibility study.
Employers can have multiple students work as part of the placement.
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:
Be available for a quick phone call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.
Provide a dedicated contact who is available to answer emails or phone calls over the duration of the project to address students' questions.
